Manukau City Council Rates held back until Sept

Manukau City Council Rates held back until September

Manukau City Council will not be billing ratepayers until September instead of the usual despatch date of August. The bills will be sent out from Monday 1 September until 3 September and ratepayers will have until 25 September to have paid the full amount or the first instalment.

It is hoped the delay in sending the Manukau City Council's rates bills will be of assistance to those who have just received their bill from the Auckland Regional Council.

Due to the clear preference received through submissions to the Long Term Council Community Plan Council has retained the Land Value system of rating.

This year there is also a discount available to those who pay their annual rates in full by the 'pay by' date. This includes payment of any outstanding arrears. The discount does not apply to those who pay by instalment.

Due to changes in rating legislation the Council is only able to bill the legal owner of the property. As a result the name on the invoice may differ from previous instalments. If the name is not that of the property owner people should contact Council's Call Centre 262 -5104, in the first instance.

If there are any questions at all regarding the invoice when it arrives, the Council requests ratepayers to ring the Call Centre on 262 5104.
