I've read a few threads on the windows being operated by remote with a VAG-COM adjustment. Can someone shed some more light on this for me?

1. Can it be done to an '02?
2. Is it just that the windows/sunroof go up when the doors are locked or can you control the window functions from the remote?

Basically, it will do the same things with the remote that you can do while holding the key in the door lock. It will open all windows when unlocking or close all windows and sunroof when locking.

It is not an everytime thing. You need to press and hold the remote button to initiate. Otherwise it works just as it does now. You can also program to unlock all doors with one press instead of needing 2 presses now.

Only caveat is that the safety window kick down if it encounters an obstruction when rolling up won't work anymore.

Yes, done here. Done by holding button down, so it also locks or unlocks the doors.

Same here - mine works fine and I even have the same wheels as you.

...you control by holding lock, they roll up (including sunroof), hold unnlock and windows open
