Superstore has final day trading
Big W Redruth
Supermarket chain Tesco has bought the Big W site at Pool
A Cornwall superstore officially ceases trading on Friday.

Woolworths announced in January that its Big W store at Pool, near Redruth, was to shut with the loss of 133 jobs.

The announcement came after a review by the company of its stores around the country. Some are being closed and others are being reduced in size.

There is hope for some former staff. New site owner Tesco says it wants to employ up 350 people at a store on the site it hopes to open by the summer.

Tesco also confirmed stores at nearby Camborne and Redruth would remain open.
