Enhancing a Live Project: Our Latest Outstaffing Case in Hiring a Senior .NET Developer. It was the case when we were processing a requirement from a client who wanted to add one more senior .NET developer to his project team. A specific of this situation was a strictly fixed budget, which mean the rate by 10% lower than the average market rate. At the same time the client wanted to consider "senior low" developers as well. And the key demand for the new developer was an ability to integrate with the existing team which already had a team lead. Also it was a necessary for the new senior developer to micro manage his own tasks, and act as good team player. Obviously, some of these requirements were in contradiction to what senior developers normally expect when looking for a new project, to join a new team. For this project we decided to propose candidates from Ukraine, as we have a good selection of experienced professionals there. This client had previously worked with Ukrainian developers, and he was highly satisfied with the quality and performance. Given the peculiarity of the rate, we were able to offer 2 candidates, although if there were no such restriction, the number of candidates would be 4. The hiring process in this case contained the following steps: · Short CV screening check on our side to see how the listed skills match the client’s requirements · Presentation of profiles of suitable developers with critical parameters specified: alignment with required skills, compensation level, availability to join the project (ASAP or within a couple of weeks), possible vacation dates coordinated with the client's schedule, and onboarding process. Onboarding was extensively detailed in my previous posts. · Technical interview, for the interview we have a list of questions that is specially prepared by the technical interviewer and is the company's best practices. · An interview with the client, based on the results of which the client makes his decision. · Document harmonization, where we accommodated the client's requirement to include all taxes and other possible expenses. This adjustment aimed to enable the client to focus solely on business tasks. The desired skills set for that senior .NET was: · .NET, 4.5+ years of experience · C# · ASP.NET · Angular, 2+ years of experience · TypeScript · JavaScript · MS SQL · PostgreSQL, 1+ year of experience · Azure · Docker · JSON One of candidates we provided to the client had these certificates: · Microsoft Azure Management Tools and Security Solutions · Microsoft Azure Services and Lifecycles In terms of time the recruitment process took 2 weeks as the client had his own schedule for reviewing candidates.
